The Two Voices

Here it is in the middle of the Corona Virus pandemic and the news is rampant with all sorts of hype over just about any topic one can think of. It is obvious while watching the news from every angle that there are two forces always at work against one another. Those two forces are evil and good.

Of course if you are a follower of Christ, then hopefully, you learned this and you know the source of the origin of both of these two forces. God being the source of good, and not only good itself, but a Holy good and purpose, and satan being the source of evil, and not just evil, but evil to cause spiritual nonsuccess of any person who will open themselves up to it. Satan once was an angel in heaven with God. He has the ability to deceive as many of whom he can. He obviously also had the ability to do this even to himself because he actually believed that he could become a source of power more mighty than the One who created him. My mind has often marveled at the fact he even did this to himself, causing him and his followers to be cast out of heaven down to earth only later to find themselves eternally bound to hell after Jesus returns back for His followers.

Still today one can see the two at odds and at work against one another. If you haven’t yet, just turn on the news and soon you will see they works of both firsthand. It wasn’t until I was older that I realized as a believer and follower of Christ that once we become yolked with Jesus, that His presence is always within us. Just this morning I read, John 10:1-21, which reminds me that no one can snatch me out of his hand and I will never be without Him.

I don’t know why sometimes we think that God is present with us when we are doing certain actions and not when we are doing others. The truth, when studied is that, He In the form of The Holy Spirit, is with us all of the time until the day we die. This also means that with certain activities we can bring delight to the Holy Spirit , and with others, we can cause grieving to occur to the Holy Spirit, (Ephesians 4:30).

Once I allowed my mind to transform to the truth of this, my life radically changed. This change has caused me to teach my grand kids very fervently to start getting acquainted to the (two voices) of which they will be exposed to from now until the time God comes back for us for good. Some would like to test God in things such as , which grocery store should you go to, or which restaurant should we go to, or what foods or medications you should or shouldn’t take, but I am not talking about trivial things such as that. We weren’t created to be God, and we are still connected to this imperfect body that causes us, as my oldest son says, to be horrible at being God and trying to figure Him out.

God is more interested in molding us to be responsive to Him and obedient to Him in the ways of sin and temptation than He is about the more trivial aspects of our lives. He also is more concerned in correcting the wrong motives of us and those around us than He is in our trying to figure out how to avoid them on our own, or testing Him in ways we never were supposed to. He sees a bigger picture than we do, and those of us who know Him know that He does not have anything to prove. He states this when he talks about the perverse generations that seek a sign (Matthew 16:4). The miraculous ways this world works and holds together is proof enough. The majestic mountains and the boundaries of the sea scream out to us that there is indeed a powerful and all knowing God and they beckon us to seek and find Him.

If one studies the Bible, he or she can find that on most every topic there is advice on how to handle situations. Morals are defined by God and if we try to determine them on our own, then there are no moral truths simply because we justify our acts to easily to fit our situations based on feelings. This is why it is so important to learn to listen to God’s voice. The only way we will be able to recognize it is to know who God is and His Word is what teaches us that. Psalm 119:11 states that spending time and meditating on God’s Word aids us in staying away from sin. Even Jesus, when he was being tempted by satan in the wilderness used His Father God’s Word to combat satan in his attempts to cause him to fall.

How important then is it that we spend time teaching our kids and grandkids the Bible and teach them early on to be aware of the two voices? When one of your kids is acting in a way contradictory to God’s wishes, ask him or her whose voice they are listening to. You will be surprised at how fast they catch on to the truth of this reality and you will be teaching them something which will be valuable to them and those around them for all of their life.

How many times have I been faced with something in my life and have realized that because of God’s Words of which I have studied, I indeed made a better choice that not only affected me in a positive way over time, but also affected the future generations around me? This makes me feel both humbled and blessed because I know I have a Father who truly loves me in a way that I could have never dreamed, and He is always there for me no matter what day or time of the week it is. It is true for me and it is true for you.

May the best voice lead you!!!
